The Sanko SWT-7000IV ( no memory) and SWT-7200Ⅳ( 10 calibration/20,000 memory ) Coating Thickness Meters combined with the SFN-325 dual probe is a professional-grade, non-destructive testing system used to measure the thickness of surface coatings, paint, linings, and platings over both magnetic and non-magnetic metal parts.
The dual probe SFN-325 with auto (intelligent ) setting provides you with easy and simple operation: The probe SFN-325 can be used with SWT-7000IW and SWT-7200IV for measurements of both Fe and Non-Fe metal substrates.
The SFN-325 probe features an integrated combination of electromagnetic induction and eddy-current technology. You do not need to swap out probes when changing target substrates. The device automatically identifies the base metal type:
- Ferrous Bases (Fe): Measures non-magnetic coatings over magnetic metals like steel and iron.
- Non-Ferrous Bases (NFe): Measures non-conductive, insulating coatings over non-magnetic metals like aluminum and copper

The Sanko SWT-7200Ⅳ gauge combined with the SFN-325 dual probe is a professional-grade, non-destructive testing system used to measure the thickness of surface coatings, paint, linings, and platings.
High-Capacity Quality Control & Inspection ( SWT-7200IV + SFN-325)
While basic models only show immediate readings on a live display, the SWT-7200Ⅳ is designed for extensive industrial auditing and compliance. It is heavily used for:
- Large-scale Logging: Automatically saves a massive data capacity of up to 20,000 measurement points.
- Multi-Project Management: Retains up to 10 independent calibration profiles. Inspectors can switch between 10 different part profiles (e.g., specific curved parts, rough metals, or specific zinc formulations) instantly without recalibrating every time.
- Statistical Tracking: Real-time generation of data metrics (averages, maximums, minimums) and built-in setting constraints for high/low tolerance limits.
- PC Reporting: Exporting saved data batches via USB transfer into computers for analytical tracking and quality reporting.
- SWT-7000IV: Zero data memory. It acts as a live monitoring tool. Once you lift the probe from the surface, the reading stays on screen until the next measurement, but it cannot be saved into internal memory blocks.
- SWT-7200IV: Features a massive 20,000-point data memory capacity. You can group readings into distinct application batches or files and export them to a computer via USB later for auditing.
Substrate Calibration Memory
- SWT-7000IV: Retains only 1 calibration curve in its active working memory. If you switch from testing a thin automotive panel to a thick industrial beam, you must manually recalibrate the zero-point and foil standard every time.
- SWT-7200IV: Can save up to 10 independent calibration curves. You can calibrate the machine once for 10 different target shapes or metals and toggle between them instantly without redoing the calibration routine.
Applications
This setup is deployed across manufacturing plants, laboratories, and heavy industries:
- Automotive & Aerospace: Checking paint thickness, body fillers, and primer uniformity over steel car frames and aluminum aerospace panels.
- Metal Plating Industries: Measuring non-magnetic galvanic coatings like zinc (galvanizing), chrome, copper, or tin plating over steel (excluding electrolytic nickel).
- Anti-Corrosion Maintenance: Auditing heavy-duty protective resin, tar epoxy, rubber linings, and thermal spraying coats applied to marine vessels, storage tanks, bridges, and industrial pipelines.
- Anodizing (Almite): Verifying insulation thicknesses and anodic oxide film coatings on aluminum architecture, window frames, and consumer appliances.
