Nikon Metrology Japan Autocollimator 6B-LED

The Nikon Autocollimator 6B-LED is an extremely precise optical measuring instrument used to measure very small angular deviations and verify the geometric properties of precision components and machine guide-ways. It provides non-contact measurements, typically with accuracy down to 0.5 arc seconds.

The instrument is a versatile tool for high-precision metrology across various industries, particularly in the manufacture of optical instruments and machine tools.

Flatness and Straightness Measurement: It is widely used to verify the flatness of surfaces or the straightness of linear guide-ways by using a reflective mirror placed on the surface being measured.
Angle Verification: The autocollimator can check the angle of workpieces and ensure that there is no angular error in a system. Accessories like pentaprisms can be used as an optical square to measure the squareness of two surfaces.
Parallelism Check: It measures the parallelism of end surfaces or components, ensuring precise alignment.
Rotary Table and Dividing Head Accuracy: The instrument can determine the precision of rotary tables and dividing heads by using polygon mirrors that provide known angular references.
Component Alignment: It is used to align sensors with optics, targets, or other components in a system to ensure proper assembly and functionality.

Two Autocollimator Models Available

The 6B-LED generates a brightfield image behind the reticule. The 6D-LED has a darkfield image for stronger contrast at the reticle, so sample glare is reduced.
