To measure the inner length (Li) of drive belts, Mitsuboshi recommends using their dedicated belt measuring gauge tool. This tool provides a precise measurement and includes conversion tables for different belt profiles. Using the Mitsuboshi Belt Measuring Gauge: The gauge is designed for V-belts, V-ribbed belts, and timing belts within a measuring range of 500 to 2500 mm.  

• Placement: Place one end of the belt over the fixed upper semi-circle of the measuring tool.
• Tensioning: Slide the lower semi-circle down the scale until the belt is held with slight tension.
• Reading: Read the value directly from the scale. This value indicates the inner length (Li) in millimeters. 

This measurement will give you the inner circumference. It is important to measure accurately to ensure you select the correct replacement belt size, as different manufacturers may specify effective length, pitch length, or inner length. With the help of this measuring tool you are able to measure the inner length of V-belts, V ribbed belts and Timing belts. Depending on which belt profile is used, certain values such as effective length can be read from the conversion Table.
