KYOWA KFRPB Foil Strain Gages for Composite Materials. These strain gages are suitable for measuring strain in compound materials such as CFRP and GFRP. They make use of a special pattern to improve the effect of self heating caused by gage current as well as the reinforcement effect on low- elastic materials.

Technical Specifications
- Resistive Element Material: NiCu alloy foil.
- Self-Temperature-Compensation Range: 0 to 150 °C.
- Applicable Linear Expansion Coefficients: Available for 1, 3, 6, and 9 (×10⁻⁶/°C) to match various materials.
- Strain Limits (at normal temperature): Approximately 2.2%.
- Fatigue Life (at normal temperature): Up to 1x10⁶ cycles (±1500 μm/m).
- Gage Resistance: Available in 120 Ω and 350 Ω models.
- Gage Factor: Approximately 2.0 to 2.1.
How to order
When ordering, specify the model of the strain gage and the code of the lead-wire cable with a space in between. E.g. KFRPB-5-120-C1-1 with 2 polyester-coated copper wires 15 cm long→ KFRPB-5-120-C1-1 N15C2 KFRPB-5-120-D22-3 with a vinyl-coated flat 3-wire cable 5 m long pre-attached→ KFRPB-5-120-D22-3 L5M3S If no lead-wire cable code is suffixed, the gage is delivered with gage leads only. (Silver-covered copper wires 25 mm long) *10 gages/pkg
