The new MC-460 measures the moisture content level in sawn tim- ber, and Biofules such as Sawdust, Wood Chips, Pellets and Palm Oil Tree residues and also Paper depending of what electrode/probes are used. With its unique polarisation feature quick and stable readings is obtained even at high Moisture Content levels. The MC-460 displays the moisture content level in % H2O. The instrument has an average adjustment for European wood based on a wood tem- perature of 20 oC. MC-460 can be delivered with a S-10 Probe, S-30 Probe, Sliding hammer, S-40 Sample Cup with compression and S- 10P sword type Probe for paper and Palm Oil Tree Fibers. This current is actual ionizing the material that the wood contains of (Cell membrane, water etc.) As an result the resistance fluctuates giving a fluc- tuation and drift of Moisture Content readout. On higher Moisture Content levels the accuracy of the measurement depends on how well the user is to make an estimate of average the varying MC value.
