19020 Series

The Chroma 19020 Series Multi-Channel Hipot Tester is used for electrical safety testing on various components and products during manufacturing and quality assurance processes. It is specifically designed to perform high-potential (hipot) tests efficiently on multiple devices under test (DUTs) simultaneously.

The Chroma 19020 Series Multi-Channel Hipot Tester has variations (Models 19020, 19021, 19022, etc.) but the primary model (19020) offers a 3-in-1 AC/DC/IR test mode with up to 10 synchronized channels. It is highly efficient for mass production safety testing.

Hipot Testing: Performing a dielectric strength test (hipot test) to ensure that the insulation of a product can withstand an over-voltage situation without current flowing between points where there should be no flow.
Mass Production/Efficiency: Testing up to 100 DUTs at the same time by linking multiple units (master/slave configuration), which saves production line space and increases manufacturing efficiency compared to using individual testers.
Synchronized Testing: Utilizing a "Sync Hipot Test" function to synchronize the voltage output across multiple channels, preventing high voltage differences that could damage adjacent DUTs or fixtures during testing.
Insulation Resistance (IR) Testing: In addition to AC and DC hipot tests, the series is also capable of performing insulation resistance tests.
Advanced Detection Functions: Includes specialized features like Flashover detection (identifies transient electrical discharges that standard leakage current monitoring might miss) and Open/Short Check (OSC) to ensure proper connections and filter out faulty units early in the testing process.

Synchronized Output: The "Sync Hipot Test" function allows all channels to output voltage simultaneously and in sync, preventing high voltage differences between adjacent DUTs.
Open/Short Check (OSC): Detects bad connections (open circuits) or short circuits early in the test process to prevent misjudgments or fixture damage.
Flashover Detection: Monitors voltage and current change rates to detect transient electrical discharges that standard leakage current monitoring might miss.
Programmable: Test voltage and limits are fully programmable.
Interfaces: Standard RS-232 and Handler interfaces are included, with an optional GPIB interface available.
Memory: Capable of storing 30 instrument setups with up to 10 test steps each.
