The Central Kagaku Portable MLSS Meter Model ML-55 is an advanced, compact handheld sludge density meter. It is manufactured by Central Kagaku to measure Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) on-site in wastewater treatment environments.

• Physical Redesign: Features a more compact and lightweight build than older iterations for easier field handling.
• Simultaneous Testing: Measures sludge concentration and water depth at the same time.
• Built-In Calculations: Features automatic calculation functions for Sludge Volume Index (SVI), Sludge Return Rate (r), and automatic conversion to the standard JIS weight method.
• Sludge Blanket Detection: Identifies the interface level of the sludge zone and alerts the operator via an alarm upon detection.
• Sensor Cable Options: Available with either a 10-meter or 15-meter cable option depending on the facility depth requirements.

• Sludge Concentration (MLSS): 0 to 15,000 mg/L
• Water Depth: 0 to 15 meters (optimally calibrated for the standard 10m cable depth profile)
• Sludge Interface (Sludge Zone): Activates at 10,000 mg/L or higher. A Sludge Zone (SZ) alarm can be configured based on a light transmittance threshold of 0.0% to 99.9%. 

• Measurement Principle: Transmitted light digital direct reading system.
• Power Source: AA alkaline batteries, supporting up to 70 hours of continuous field operation.
• Data Storage Capacity: Internal memory stores up to 999 measurement datasets.
• Data Connectivity: Integrated USB port for seamless data transfer and extraction to external devices.
