The A&D SV-A Series tuning fork vibro viscometers are used for high-precision, real-time viscosity measurement in a variety of scientific and industrial settings. Unlike traditional rotational viscometers, they use a unique sine-wave vibration method that allows for continuous monitoring without changing sensors.

• X-Y-Z Stage: Included as standard for fine positioning, which is critical when working with the very small sample cups (2 ml) of the SV-1A.
• Wide-Range Continuous Measurement: Unlike rotational viscometers, you can measure a sample transitioning from low to high viscosity (e.g., sol to gel) in real-time without stopping to change rotors.
• Flowing Fluid Measurement: Because the two sensor plates vibrate in reverse phase, they can measure viscosity while a sample is flowing or being stirred.
• WinCT-Viscosity Software: Comes standard with a serial-to-USB converter to provide real-time graphing and data logging on a PC

• Sol-Gel Transitions: Ideal for tracking the curing points of adhesives, gelatin, or agar.
• Cloud Point Detection: Can identify the cloud point of surfactants by measuring the rapid change in viscosity.
• Lubricants & Oils: Monitoring viscosity changes accompanying temperature shifts in engine oils or grease

Specification:

• Sample Volume: The SV-1A is specifically engineered for the smallest samples (as low as 2 ml), making it essential for expensive or scarce fluids.
• Viscosity Limits:
  • The SV-10A is the most versatile for liquids with low-to-mid viscosity (up to 10,000 mPa·s).
  • The SV-100A is strictly for higher-viscosity substances, starting its measurement floor at 1,000 mPa·s (1 Pa·s).
• Positioning Accuracy: All SV-A models come standard with an X-Y-Z stage. This is more critical for the SV-1A  where precise sensor immersion in a tiny 2 ml cup is required to avoid errors.
• Simplified Calibration: Only the SV-1A and SV-10A support "Simplified Calibration," which allows you to calibrate using just purified water. The SV-100A requires standard viscosity liquids for accuracy.
